I am beginning to develop my political views, but my views as an artist and a designer are firm and clear. And this video by will.i.am for Barack Obama is breathtaking, simple, elegant if it doesn't make you believe in a new tomorrow, i don't know what will.
See it here or click around at the following sites:Yes We Can or here.
I love the A Diamond is Forever commercials - especially the sweet, tender moment that is expressed in this one. And the song...I think that possibly, maybe I'm falling for you...yes theres a chance that I've fallen quite hard over you....is on repeat on my new ipod shuffle - it is called, "Falling in Love At a Coffee Shop" and it is by Landon Pigg, available for free from rca and A Diamond is Forever
Okay, so on the other side of my post from yesterday - you all should know this. I am a girly, girly. Like full-blown, no excuses, no apologizes, hello kitty buying, pink loving girly-girl. Inside there is a part of me that secretly loves Valentines Day. Loves that abundance of roses, the plethora of pink and red, is captivated my the amounts of chocolate and teddy bears and overjoyed with the thought of freshly baked treats, tender kisses, handwritten love songs, poetry and romantic cards.
So from that angle here are some treats guaranteed to please.

So Valentines Day is this week. I have always had a love hate relationship with Valentines Day. Most of them I have spent alone, which I believe would be fine if most of the people that I know were not always in relationships. So, I walk through the streets and stores seeing men buying lingerie and roses and candy for the special ladies in there life and can’t help but wonder if someone will ever do that for me.
Now the other reality based side of that thought is that I have had some wonderful 2/14 with a wonderful man that had a skill for rich desserts and relaxing/pampering treats – from him more than anything I learned to appreciate something that someone does for you only because it means something to you. (there are not many guys that I know that heart 2/14). And this year will not be one of those wonderful card, rose, homemade dinner filled evenings and I cannot say that I am looking forward to it.
But I am looking forward to wearing another on of the product(red) Gap tops. I bought a few for a friend at Christmas time and I have to say, I am in love with the idea, the products and the cause.
The basic idea is you buy products or services that you would buy anyway from companies they you know, trust and love. And the companies will give a portion of its profits for the purchase and distribution of medicine to the men, woman and children living and dying from AIDS in Africa. It is not a charity, it is a new way to look at business and shopping. We all win!
For all you Mac and PC iTunes using music lovers - iConcertCal a plug-in to see which of your bands will be touring in your area in the upcoming months. It automatically scans your music and displays any tour dates near you in a nifty little calendar.
There is a blue-eyed boy that I know that would love this little plug-in or at least find it post-worthy. Especially after finding out he could see Cibelle or Augustana tonight at Carnegie or Webster Hall respectively. So, please for my tech cred go there: iConcertCal
Just started reading a new fun blog called SheepdogPD - full of everything you need to know about starting a print and design business. It is run by two sisters and an excellent resources for all you entrepreneurs out there!
And the image above, is from the freebie section - awesomely, pretty calendars for the taking, printing, pinning on your bulletin board, stuffin' in a desk folder, or magnetizing to your fridge until your heart delights.
Again it is not Wednesday - I think that I should rename this category.
Paolo Nutini. He may not be new to a few of you but probably is to most of you. Hopeful you caught him on Conan last night or the Today Show this morning - luckily he has a channel on YouTube where you can get up to speed.
So I am at working on the eighth floor of one on my favorite buildings in all of New York. And it is snowing! In a attempt to now let it ruin my stellar day today, I run out to treat myself to something that is both functional and fantastic. I decide on a winter hat from EMS, because I just got a ton of hair chopped off a few weeks ago and I am still not convinced of it. I see it as a mix of manly chick, soccer mom and that young girl short haircut that we all have had.
But oh my has that changed!
I am now a sex kitten, really I look so hot that I didn’t want to take it off. (Truth: I keep it on in the elevator while chatting and batting my eyelashes with this hot guy that works in the building) and it is all because of Coal’s The Stella Hat.
The picture above does not do the hotness justice - it is warm, soft and when tilted ever so slightly to the left gives off the perfect mix of "I am not trying" and "I just look this hot on my own" - there is not a person alive that doesn't want/need/crave/attempt to recreate that from time to time. Ladies, trust me on this one. And men, there are some head-turning, hot-increasing mens hat's here as well, so get on it!
Now, one thing that you should know about me is that I believe never strongly in the power of dressing and accessories, the right watch, shoe or bag can make any outfit. (this fact is epecially true for men – but that is another post) This hat - that I now own in mocha and rose - takes a ok haircut and takes it first-class into chic-ville.
